You can enter multiple Component Tests.  Xerox likes to call that “Chaining” the codes.  That is done by entering the first code, then pressing the “Media” button followed by the next code you want to “chain”.  You can enter several codes this way all together.  This is helpful if you want to exercise a motor and watch to see if a sensor is seeing the component move.

Finally we come to the “Special Tests” or NVM (nonvolatile memory) adjustments. You enter the codes the same way as the input or output codes, but to change a value, you press the “Enter” button and then use the “Previous” and “Next” arrow keys to select the value you want.  Then press “Enter” again to lock in your selection. Here’s the list:

SPECIAL TESTS…  (Memory Adjustments):

 * The Electrostatic Setup (code 09-21)  From this code, you can run sub-tests using the number keys as follows:

1 = AC/Transfer Detack Corotrons on

2 = Cleaner Voltage.

3 = Adjust Charge (Vlow)

02-11

Language ROM test… 0 = both language ROM’s are defective, 1 = Secondary language ROM is defective, 4 = Primary language ROM is defective, 5 = All is well with both ROM’s.

02-63

Inches vs. Metric Billing Meter count (0=Inch, 1=Metric).

03-00

Restarts the printer (IOT or Image Output Terminal).

03-01

Enter main machine (IOT) Firmware Update Mode (downloads the most recent software).

03-60

03-62
