The answer to these problems came at an HP Partner meeting and an HP referral, Informa Software. Informa Software’s IQmfp is a digitized paper process for capturing, indexing, storing, and retrieving paper in the office. The process, developed for the HP mfp, uses any brand equipment for scanning, so customers in many cases would not need to add hardware. The only requirement is that the customer operates on a network. If they need a more robust scanning and optical character recognition (OCR) capability, Page After Page can help with the acquisition of an HP MFP. Since the Informa product is priced at a fraction of the cost of competing software, and embraces the same robust capabilities and is complete with training and support, Page After Page implemented the product for their own internal use.

After months of hard work, Page After Page is using the software internally and has begun marketing it to their current customer base using an e-mail campaign.  After the fist six weeks, Page After Page has many customers that have expressed interest in learning more about their document management solutions.

Frank and his staff can define the keys to the transition:

• Strong commitment by the dealer principal and the

    management team to change

• A plan with milestones

• Willingness to invest to learn new areas

• Strong communications throughout the change cycle

• Celebrations of success

Six months into this new strategy, Page After Page has multiple customers on print management contracts, including new printer and MFP hardware.  They are also fully engaged in offering document management solutions.  This is a continuous, changing process that has repositioned Page After Page from a company that started out as a toner re-manufacturer to a company that is well on their way to becoming a successful document management company.
