FREE TECH HELP

April 2008

Subject: Toshiba ES 310C

Question: When using the printer, the color is way off. Color is perfect when you use the copier. When you print to it from the PC, its color is wrong. Is there a way to correct this problem? Help!!

Answer: Color registration in the print menu. Good Luck.

Answer: Try using a different driver. Probably a postscript issue.

Answer: Also try a color calibration from the fiery. I think you need a special card (black scale) to put with the test sheet for rescanning but I do not remember right now.

Answer: Don’t think you need any special card for that, machine will print out chart, then you will scan it. How are the test prints from the fiery?

Answer: No, you do need a fiery color scale to do the adjustment, it is absolutely necessary-it’s the Kodak trademarked scale that they use.

Subject: Minolta EP 6000 keeps reinitializing.

Question: it’s been years since I worked on one of these. The screen goes blank, starts to initialize over and over, works for a while and then in the middle of a run, it will act up again. I remember there was a problem in the display area of these machines. Any help is appreciated; this machine is two hours away from me.

Answer: If my memory serves me right, remove the upper right cover and reseat Ram PCB. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Answer: I agree with above!!

Answer: Adjust the 5vdc to 5.3vdc— it is probably down to 4.8 at times. I think it is VR2 on the power supply— it has been a little while.

Answer: I agree with above, re-seat the ram pack. Fold up a piece of paper and tape it on the side cover so it presses against the ram pack to keep it tight. This will prevent it from working its way out again.
