Ambassador Tech Services (ATS) Celebrates First Year
Anniversary as
“The New
Board Repair You’ve Trusted Forever”
Ambassador
Tech Services (ATS) was founded on
Nov. 1st 2002 by owner and President Dan Lentino
Sr. ATS offers component level circuit board repair for
Ricoh, Savin, Mita, and Konica as well as some Sharp,
Minolta, Toshiba, and Jamex copier circuit boards. ATS also
offers fax board repair for Ricoh, Mita and Samsung.
ATS provides three turnaround times based on your
level of urgency: 1) an Emergency Rush Repair Service, that
allows customers to place orders (3 boards or less) on
“rush” status to be completed and shipped the day of
arrival; 2) a Board Exchange Service, in which ATS will ship
you a board it has in stock in advance; and, 3) a normal
Two-Day Turnaround service that includes the completion of
20 boards or less within 2 business days.
“Two things that make us different are: 1) that our
component level technicians are also machine technicians as
well. So therefore, they can offer individualized technical
help to assist you in getting that machine up and running.
We maintain a history of all the electrical and mechanical
problems on the brands and models we service. This wealth
of knowledge enables us to perform precision repairs and
give accurate advice. 2) We use not only automated
computer-assisted, custom designed test equipment but also
perform the majority of the final tests in the machine,”
commented Lentino, owner and president of ATS.
From
Midwest to ATS
Dan was the former Vice President and Operations Manager for
Midwest
PCB Repair Center for over 16 years. “Midwest was the
brainchild of Fred Knecht, who, while at Savin Corporation,
discovered that they, along with most other companies were
purchasing a new board every time one was determined
defective.” So, Fred started a component level board repair
center at Savin’s Chicago division. Deciding there was
demand across the industry for his board repair services, he
left Savin and formed Midwest PCB Repair.
Knecht then united with Lentino, who has degrees in business
marketing and business management, to launch the new
company. “We were the first ones to introduce a 1-year
warranty, 2 –day turnaround, and a ‘no problem found’
discount policy to the industry,” says Lentino.
After many years, Fred wanted to get out of the board
repair business and focus on his own new invention, the
electronic golf swing analyzer and trainer dubbed “The
Freddy Connect (www.freddyconnect.com)”.
“Rather than abandon the customers that had come to depend
on Midwest all those years, Dan decided to relocate and form
a new company using the talented and experienced senior
technicians of Midwest PCB along with new goals and ideas,
combining the best of the old and new companies,” said Dan
Lentino, now president and owner of ATS.
Dan immediately began adding more digital machines
to the repair capabilities of ATS. Number 1 on the list was
the expansion of their Ricoh and Mita lines. At the helm of
his Digital Division and Ricoh product divisions is
specialist Steve Wendtland. While he was a factory-trained
copier and fax technician at Savin Corporation, he received
many awards for service excellence. Wendtland has been a
component level board repair technician for 15 years and is
experienced in the latest surface mount re-work technology.
“Our customers can feel confident that ATS will apply years
of experience, knowledge and technical expertise to every
circuit board repair,” says Steve. And it is thanks to
Steve that Lentino credits “ATS with being the only repair
company that is successfully repairing Laser Scanner Units
for Kyocera Mita Digital copiers.”
“If you are experiencing C420 codes on the Kyocera Mita
digital Ai4040 or 5050 copiers or poor copy quality on the
Ai2310or 3010 copiers, you have a bad laser unit. The
manufacturer will be happy to sell you one for only $1200.
However, Ambassador can repair your unit for only $277,”
says owner of Ambassador Tech Services, Dan Lentino.
He goes on to say, “[Another] common problem [is] with the
Ricoh Aficio
200, 250, 350 and 450 Series.
When there is a shorted toner motor it is necessary to
replace the IO board and the toner motor as a set. ATS can
repair your IO boards for only $77, the manufacturer charges
over $200 for a new one. The manufacturer’s warranty on the
new board is only 90 days. Where as, the board repaired by
ATS carries a full 1-year warranty.”
These are just a few
of the common yet costly problems ATS can solve. Lentino
went on to say, “We service more boards per model than any
other board repair facility. Some board repair services
will only repair main boards, power supplies, and operation
panels. ATS will repair everything from printer controller
boards, to high voltage units, to sorters, to finisher and
document feeder boards. Ricoh, Savin, Mita, Konica, Sharp, and Minolta are just some
of the manufacturers we can help you with,” added Dan
Lentino.
Dan
will soon add more digital machines to the Konica line and
others.
While Wendtland heads up the digital division of ATS, Mark
Funk specializes in analogue and Mita products. Mark’s
degree as an electrical engineer is from the De Vry
Institute of Technology and he was a lab supervisor of
research and development at Northern Electric (a division of
Sunbeam). He also has background in designing test fixtures
and performing safety tests on new products for Underwriters
Laboratories.
In ‘91 Mark began his career in board repair and is
considered to be ATS’ resident power supply and high voltage
expert. “Due to Mark’s abilities, ATS has been able to
accept and repair power supplies from multiple manufacturers
and products. Mark takes the time to assist our customers
with the individualized technical assistance they need,”
Lentino said of the electrical authority. Funk said of his
job, “It is our responsibility at ATS to make our customers’
job easier.”
“Our
office manager Barbara Ragnanese as well as our shipping and
technical staff prides themselves in handling your paperwork
and orders with impeccable accuracy,” said Dan.
The first year of business has not been without challenges,
but Lentino’s belief in providing friendly, individualized,
quality service, standing behind your work, and being able
to adapt quickly to your customers’ needs will ensure the
continued success of Ambassador Tech Services.
Future Service
“What you can expect from ATS is a continued commitment to
excellence in workmanship and customer service,” Lentino
assures his future customers, “We will continue to set the
industry standards by offering:
1-Year Warranty
