Accurate Laser, Inc. was incorporated in 1993 and has proven to be

Accurate Laser, Inc. has plans on continuing their mark as a
prominent supplier of service parts and consumables to dealers
across the United States.
Ron Coen, with over twenty-five year’s experience, is the
founder and President of Accurate Laser, Inc. In 1978 Ron started
working for Johnson and Stanley, an office supply company, which
later merged into United Stationers. As a warehouse manager for
them, Ron saw the future demand for supplies growing, which lead him
to ponder the idea of opening his own business.
In 1980, with thirty-eight dollars and a box of business cards,
Ron started up his own company in Houston Texas. "At that time
we were selling to the end users, I passed out 500-1000 business
cards to potential customers per week, " Ron stated. The
company was named Ron’s Office Supply. "When I started Ron’s
Office Supply our inventory consisted of consumables such as pens,
paper, and ribbons for typewriters. Laser printers and faxes were
not even heard of yet," said Ron. Ron pounded the pavement
every week generating his customer base by personally contacting
businesses in the Houston area. Ron experienced success and his
customer base grew rather quickly. But shortly after his hard work
brought him good fortune, the oil crunch hit. This caused a drastic
change in the way he did business. "Many of my customers left
me out to dry. They were unable to pay for the products they
received," said Ron. As the business slowed dramatically, Ron
moved more towards a service based company and started doing repairs
for machines. In the early 1980’s he started working on a brand
new generation of machines, HP Laser Printers. Ron found himself
working on the HP Laserjet which was also referred to as the HP
Series 1. Ron stated and laughed," What an amazing
breakthrough, a copier type machine called a laser printer which
would actually print 2 pages a minute without using a ribbon or a
printwheel! We also serviced IBM typewriters and calculators which
made up the majority of the items we serviced." Ron continued,
"That eventually expanded to include, printers, and new
generations of copier machines." As more machines entered the
industry, Ron’s experience and ability servicing machines had
increased as well.
"In the late 1980’s the Series-2 printer came about which
had an unheard of, eight copies per minute capacity. This Printer
revolutionized the industry," said Ron. As the need grew for
service the demand for parts grew as well. Ron found that it was
very difficult to locate items he needed to service these new
machines properly. "We found it very hard to find supplies and
we continued to search develop a good source of locating the
supplies easier. We finally located a Canon supplier with the
ability to offer parts and supplies at a price significantly lower,
if we purchased in volume, " Ron continued. "So in 1993 I
redesigned my business plan, and opened Accurate Laser Inc. We
started to offer Canon and HP parts in addition to providing service
for various machines. We researched the industry for dealer pricing,
put a $50 ad in a trade publication, and sold over $7000 worth of
parts and supplies our first month."
Ron still finds it an on-going problem to locate parts and
supplies without using several vendors and wasting time trying to
pinpoint the items needed. In 1998 Ron envisioned a website to
supply the industry with all their parts and supply needs. "The
computer programs were so costly that we decided to hold off. But as
technology advanced, programs and websites became more user friendly
and the idea started to become more of a reality." Ron
continued, "In March of 2003, we finally launched our new
comprehensive web site (www.acrat.com), offering an enormous array
of items for dealers at the click of a mouse."
Accurate Laser Inc. has developed a real time inventory web store
"second to none" with a huge assortment of items. Ron Coen
decided early on that he would not settle for anything less than a
user-friendly informative site. "There are no passwords to
remember, no user name to remember, and ordering is easy and quick
and will be processed immediately. Inventory is processed and
updated as it comes in so you can feel confident you will be taken
care of," said Ron. There is a qualified staff you can call at

relationships with other vendors such as Minolta QMS, Ricoh,
Samsung, Tektronix, Gestetner, Xerox and the Canon PC Copier lines

explained Ron.
"Our main Web Store also consists of HP, Lexmark, Okidata,
accessories, parts and supplies. The site also has a laser printer
cross-reference to assist you in the model types. We have just
recently developed the second information storefront to the web
site, which offers hard to find supplies."
When asked who Accurate Laser currently services Ron replied,
"Our customer base consists of computer/copier service,
recharging companies, office supply companies, computer repair
companies and various printer and copier retailers." Ron
continued, "We are a very personable company and try not to
grow too fast where we are unable to give the attention to the
customer that they deserve. At Accurate Laser we do not have
voicemail during work hours, when you call us you speak to a live
person." Ron added, "Everyone on our staff is
knowledgeable on products, machines and service. We will take the
time to fax the pictures of items or to search for a part. We go
that extra mile to ensure our customer is satisfied. Some customers
really appreciate the treatment and others want the bottom dollar.
Our main focus will remain on taking care of the customer. We are
not always the cheapest price, however, product availability gives
our customers peace of mind. Our knowledgeable and friendly service
will keep them coming back to Accurate Laser," said Ron.
Accurate Laser has experienced a modest and continual growth of
business since they started in 1993 and Ron envisions a steady
growth for the future. He explains, "We are not interested in
experiencing rapid growth. We want to make sure we can handle all
the current customers and gradually bring on new ones. Our interest
lies more into offering the same personal attention as our customers
have known and been accustomed to.
