Dahle North America, Inc

If your customers need to Shred it, Trim it, Sharpen it or Shear it, Dahle North America, Inc. has the tool for you. For the past 73 years Dahle has been a leading manufacturer of shredding and cutting products for the home, office, government and art and craft markets.

Dahle Bürotechnik GmbH of Coburg, Germany was first started in 1930 by Wilhelm Dahle as a producer of steel discs used for pencil sharpeners. Dahle concentrated on pencil sharpeners almost exclusively for thirty years and by the early 1960’s, was the world leader in pencil sharpening and lead pointing technology.

In an attempt to broaden in U.S. market, Dahle North America was created as a subsidiary of Dahle Bürotechnik GmbH. Located in Peterborough, New Hampshire, Dahle NA sells to over 800 dealer accounts across the nation. “We’re like a family at Dahle,” said Chris Jackson, Dahle NA’s Marketing Manager. “With only 14 employees, we work very closely with one another and it’s nice to know we can count on each other and rely on them for help. The quality of our staff and their ability to work as a team is what has helped us to succeed for over 27 years,” Scott Prokop, VP and General Manager of Dahle North America, Inc, added.

With the increasing concerns for maintaining security both personally and professionally, Dahle entered the shredder market in the late 1980’s. Dahle currently offers over 40 models including strip cut, cross cut and Department of Defense approved security models. Each shredder features a solid steel cutting head milled from a block of German Solingen steel. Having a solid head increases the strength and durability of their shredders and greatly prolongs their life span. Dahle also offers a one year warranty* on materials and workmanship and a lifetime on the cutting head. (*Excludes High Security Models.)

Reacting to current trends in the industry has kept Dahle at the top of their game. “Because of our close relationship with our German parent company, we have the ability to react to market demands very quickly,” said Prokop, “For example, when the NSA changed their requirements for Top Secret data destruction, we were able to rise to the challenge very quickly by being one of the first companies to have a machine tested and approved by the NSA.”

Customer service is one of Dahle of North America’s specialties. Dahle representatives conduct onsite training seminars and support their dealers in marketing and selling their product. “Since we only sell our products through dealers, it’s important to focus on their needs and assist their sales and marketing efforts any way we can. We feel that this is a more personalized approach to doing business and it’s that attention to detail that has made us who we are today,” concluded Prokop.

Product literature can be obtained directly through Dahle’s website. Within a couple of days you can expect to receive a product catalog, retail pricing and any other pertinent information relating to your request.
