“We pride ourselves on service,” Terril said, “We’ve acquired
a lot of customers and we have a lot of repeat business. We

Business Notion Since
Childhood
OES
Solutions was started in 2000 by Danny Terril, Chip Terril
(his cousin), and Trevor Bodrazic, the first employee they
hired. With over 10 years experience in the office industry,
Danny and Chip vowed to make some changes from their previous
encounters with industry shakers. They wanted to give
customers more of a choice. Previously, the two business
partners noticed companies in the office supplies industry
dealing in one line or product.
“Instead of
concentrating on one or two product lines we expanded to take
care of all our customers’ needs. We are not going to try to
sell you just one type of toner. We’re not going to cater to
one type of customer, we wanted to offer something to
everyone,” said D. Terril.
While there
wasn’t always an “OES Solutions,” the notion of something like
it was a concept the cousins shared since childhood. “We
talked about [going into business together] all our lives, one
day we just decided to do it,” said Danny Terril. After both
of the team members had spent time in the office equipment
trade, they felt they had the knowledge and experience to
start OES.
Business
began for the family duo in a small office space in Fort
Wayne, Indiana. Mike Oehler, also experienced in the
industry, joined into ownership of the company within the
first year of operations. The team of four began to do
business with the diversity that would give them an edge over
more narrow-minded distributors.
Danny took
over sales, Mike headed up purchasing/warehouse while also
aiding Danny in sales, and Chip oversaw administrations and
operations. The experiences of each of the members covered
the aspects of what runs a successful business inside and
out. And it showed.
In their
first year they were a million
dollar operation, experiencing a hyper-growth that allowed
them to relocate to a 10,000+ sq. ft. facility on 3 acres in
Westfield, Indiana. More employees joined their team and
business grew steadily. Now the 10+
million dollar company exceeds market demands nationwide.

“What distinguishes us in the industry is our vibrant
employees,” said Chip Terril, “We work with the philosophy
that no one person in our company can be replaced. We are
equally valuable and it takes all of us to make the company
operate properly.”
Danny adds, “A coach is only as good as its players and here
we have great players with great attitudes that work well
together, and feed off each other. We have a common goal to
provide the best company available in this industry.”
OES
Solutions employees are what make OES so successful and
exclusive. Out of 12 employees that have ever worked for OES
only one has ever left the company, and she was going into
active duty for the military. Incredibly, the OES team
camaraderie places them above the rest and creates efficiency
and friendliness that dealers may not find elsewhere in the
industry.
Also
neighborly, OES supports a medley of local charities, is a
member of the Better Business Bureau, involved in the
Westfield Chamber of Commerce, and several other organizations
uniting and benefiting the local businesses in the region.
Future Horizons for OES

OES keeps the entrepreneur spirit thriving throughout the
community. What's more, the imaging supplies industry itself
provides businesses and schools a service that is not only
essential but, according to Danny Terril, recession proof.
“I think
the industry is going to maintain itself. Until there is a
paperless office, until your kid goes to school and doesn’t
read a book, there is always going to be a need for us. Our
industry is kind of unique because everybody prints, faxes, or
copies,” said Danny Terril, “It’s kind of recession proof, not
100% recession proof; but even when you don’t have a job, you
are still going to go home and print out a resume.”
It is
clear; the industry is here to stay. However, everything
about it will change time and again, for the better. As the
industry complexes and consolidates, it allows more unique
companies and services to appear for imaging dealers and
manufacturers. OEM’s continual introduction of products give
after market manufactures a challenge and also a deeper bag of
products to offer.
On the
forefront of OES Solutions’ agenda remains the philosophy of
giving customers options. As the market expands, OES
Solutions will find more ways to satisfy customers and supply
their aftermarket consumable and equipment needs.

allow dealers and local end-users to purchase products. The

Solutions plans to grow its local retail service, which was
just implemented at the first of the year. This experience
will further their knowledge of market changes and product
