Lusk and Associates
Lusk and Associates is a company who offers
computer printers, parts and service nationwide, has
successfully been fulfilling the industry’s needs for over
20 years. Charles Lusk and his son Steve Lusk opened their
doors in Anaheim California in 1980. "When my father and
I started the company, we were the only two employees in the
company." Said Steve Lusk, President and co-owner of Lusk
& Associates. From a small local operation, Lusk and
Associates has grown into a nationally recognized competitor
in the wholesale market. In 1989 Lusk & Associates
expanded and grew out of their original location and moved
into a larger facility to accommodate their increase of
business. Today Lusk and Associates has grown their market to
service accounts here in the US as well as internationally.
Lusk & Associates offers a full line of computer
printers (Refurbished and New) and spare parts for over 40
manufacturers. Some of the top names and parts include Minolta
QMS,
Printronix, C.Itoh, Dataproducts, Genicom, Epson, NEC, Alps,
Texas Instruments, Tally, Okidata, Datasouth and Digital
Equipment.
Some of the benefits from ordering from Lusk and Associates
include Custom-tailored supply agreements for key accounts,
depot repair and yearly maintenance contracts are also
available. "We also offer customers Lusk & Associates
computer service division, where we do on-site repair
nationwide. We have partnerships throughout the United States
and can effectively service anyone in the country." Steve
explained. "We have a five to seven day turnaround time
on our printer repairs and also offer local service for
companies local in Southern California where they can send
drop off and then pick up their repaired printer." Steve
also stated they offer a ninety-day warranty on all parts and
whole units including refurbished products.
Additionally, Lusk and Associates has a full time tech
support team, who are available for assistance from 8am-5pm
Pacific Standard Time. Steve noted, "Our customers are
guaranteed professional and reliable support on all of our
products. "Our helpful technicians are trained
professionals who have significant experience in the printer
industry."
When asked what makes you different from the rest, Steve
answered, "We care. We strive to process every order
correctly, on time and with the highest quality
possible." We supported Minolta QMS in 1997 when we handled
approximately 40% of Minolta’s customer service throughout
the country. The next year was 70% and the following year
100%. Lusk & Associates well deserved reputation and
success served as a prerequisite for Minolta Authorized
Distributorship. Steve explained, "We were offered a
distributorship for Minolta based on our service history. We
have been doing this for over three years now."
"In an industry so competitive on pricing, we focus on
the quality of our product and customer service such as
getting the product there when you need it," said Steve.
Lusk and Associates offers same-day shipping, anywhere in the
country. Orders placed by 5pm Pacific Standard Time will ship
the same day. "Our dealers can also use our inventory for
just in time delivery. We can blind ship for our customers
with the assurance their customers are protected. We would
rather service our dealers and have them do the business than to steal their customers. In a sense, our dealers are an
extension of our sales force," Steve noted. Lusk &
Associates boasts a full inventory on current and end-of-life
models. "We most likely carry the outdated/hard to find
item or part you have been searching for," Steve
continued. "Many companies will search all over and in
most cases we will have the part they are trying to
locate."
In addition to word of mouth, Lusk and Associates continue
to market strategically in US and Internationally through the
Internet, trade publications, mass email and cold calling.
Lusk & Associates has had an average of 15% growth, each
year for the past three years. "We are currently at 25%
of where I would like to be. Despite a slow down in the
market, there is still opportunity and the industry has a long
way to go," said Steve. And when asked about what he sees
for the future of Lusk & Associates, Steve answered,
"First, my plans are to increase the Minolta QMS parts
distribution where we are number one. Second, we want to
increase our consumable business and continue to enhance the
performance of "legacy" printers.
