to be fulfilled, then one of the drivers is going to UPS to drop it
off at their center. We won’t let 20 boxes stand here undelivered
because it’s 5:15,” said Douek.

find what you need quickly and account tools will help you recount
your TonerZone orders. With a username and password, clients can

re-order form, complete online RMA’s, and pay open invoices.
When orders are placed at TonerZone,
an email confirmation is automatically sent out telling you

shipping confirmation with a tracking # is sent, as the product
goes out the door.
While TonerZone is electronically
savvy, they are still available to take your call. “We are
not a huge company, so we still have the capability to take care of
the little things. Like if our clients calls us and needs 20
cartridges shipped out at 5:00, we can still do that,” said Douek.
50 Factories Under
One Roof- TonerZone
“Instead of re-inventing the
wheel, we source from the best companies worldwide. We let
[manufacturers] do what they do best,” said Douek of his niche of
buying the best products from best manufacturers all over the world
for his customers. “Keeping up with
top-notch factories is what really excites me because I know we’re
getting the best products. The end-user’s going to be happy and the
reseller’s going to be happy. I want everyone to be happy.”
Teaming up with manufacturers across
the globe gives TonerZone customers the best price and quality
cartridges. TonerZone has distribution and co-manufacturing
facilities in California, China, Korea and Mexico. At present, the
company employs and/or contracts more than 150 people worldwide.
In turn, remanufacturers turn into
customers for TonerZone. Over a quarter of their manufacturers also
buy from them. “Some of them may not manufacture thermal ribbons or
inkjets, for instance, so they will outsource the product from us
[to fill orders],” said Douek.
TonerZone’s edge is in their buying
power. Since they have partnerships around the globe, both for
empties and finished cartridges. TonerZone can get products at the
best prices. “To buy from overseas you have to tie up a lot of
capital and carry heavy inventory. Let us stock it and drop ship for
you,” said Douek.
He went on to say, “We partner
with world-class manufacturers to provide rigorous product testing
and monitoring throughout the cartridge life, to ensure dependable
performance. Most of our cartridges are produced in an ISO 9001
approved factories. TonerZone requires and conducts rigorous testing
with our suppliers. We verify suppliers print results prior to
packaging any of our cartridges. By bundling them all
together under one roof, it gives our dealers a one-stop-shopping
capability.”

TonerZone History &
Future
Before Ilan Douek went into the
imaging industry, he headed a distribution business of bakery
goods. They delivered bagels and other baked goods to hotels,
restaurants, and cafes. His business did well and they were bought
out, Ilan was 28. Afterwards he decided to travel for six months,
taking a break from business.
Soon after his return, he began
looking for his next industry. A wealthy friend of his father was
in the aftermarket imaging industry, he advised him to look into
it. Ilan was inspired and began selling toners on Ebay. “I bought
one or two and sold them on E-bay, then I did it again and again,”
said Douek. In 2000, TonerZone was born.
Today, they have positioned
themselves to provide imaging products to dealers, web resellers,
and manufacturers who outsource products. Their worldwide buying
power gives them a unique advantage for quality and low cost
cartridges. Bulk orders to Europe and South America, shows their
worldwide selling power, as well.
In the future, TonerZone hopes to
expand its market. TonerZone wants to increase its business by
selling internationally. “I want to be the first company to sell
compatible cartridges in Iraq,” Ilan said. Also, TonerZone wants to
open up to retail channels by selling to markets like computer parts
companies.
While TonerZone is firmly headed
toward their goals, they won’t lose site of the present. Their main
focus is on their customers and getting orders out the door.
“We are going to do everything we
can, by picking up the phone, shipping the same day, by packing it
right, by making sure the right cartridge is in the box, making sure
that the customer’s going to get it on time, and that the cartridges
going to work to OEM standards. That it. That’s all we want to do,
and we want to do it all day long,” said Douek.
